Hi everyone! We have a few developments in our neck of the woods.
First of all, our baby birds hatched! (Okay, they're not "ours," but they hatched in a home we made for them only a few feet from our front door, so we feel partly responsible for their well-being.) After more than two weeks of watching mama and papa bird come and go from the nest and wondering when (or if) the eggs would hatch, we finally spotted some cute little beaks today, peeking up from their nest. The proud parents are busily feeding them, and it's just so adorable! Here's the best shot we could get of them without disturbing them with our noise (the baby bird's mouth is wide open in the middle):

Second development:
Last weekend, this thing:
(note the label "long and soft")...
...did THIS to our dining room window:

Yep, that's right, we had a golf ball shoot through our window from the nearby golf course. We were in the other room fortunately, so we weren't hurt, but we heard a loud shattering all of a sudden. We went to see what had happened, and there was glass everywhere, all over our dining room and on the ground outside. The shot was obviously WAY off from the hole, but we have had some other near-misses in the past year (usually runaway shots hitting our roof or nearby lawn), so it wasn't ALL that surprising. It was bound to happen eventually.
In other developments, we are about to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary next week (May 22). Hard to believe it's been that long--at the same time that it seems like we've been married forever! We are going to take a little weekend away to celebrate, and then my (Jenny's) parents and brothers are coming to visit for the next week. We are really looking forward to both occasions--welcome breaks from work! We'll post some pictures, I'm sure, after all that.

I guess you knew it would happen sooner or later! And from what you guys said, I'm surprised it wasn't sooner!
Have you gotten it fixed? Hopefully this won't be repeated too often!
Unfortunately, no, but they're scheduled to finally come this Friday to fix it. I suppose this is why insurance is important! And, yeah, with balls hitting the roof and siding of the house all the time, it was only a matter of time before they hit one of the several "bullseyes" (windows) facing the course.
