Well, it's officially fall! In honor of its coming, I made a pumpkin pie, and Ben also brought me home some pumpkins and flowers on Friday. Fall in Williamsburg promises to be pretty--the leaves are already starting to show some color, in fact. The less pretty face of fall also seems to have arrived--weeds, and with them, lots of pollen. Not fun for an allergy-stricken person like me! I've been feeling pretty poorly for the past couple of weeks on and off because of it--and all the molds from the nearby swamp areas don't help one bit either.

Today we went for our daily walk around the nearby golf course, and we have discovered that one particular hole has apparently been permanently claimed by some Canadian geese--we have not seen the hole once without these guys sitting around at it. With some golfers in the background, we wonder what they're target is...

One final photo of the day...Ben's lemon tree, which he began growing from a lemon seed about 4 years ago, has begun to branch out and is - at last - beginning to look more like a tree. Of course, we're not sure if or when it will ever produce real lemons, but we must give this thing some credit since it has survived two big moves already!
p.s. We're using our very old digital camera for the time being to get pictures up here--you probably won't notice a difference in quality since they're so small, though we don't plan on using the camera much since it eats batteries like crazy.

Those are beautiful flowers! I love fall and am so glad to have it here (though today was pretty hot for us!) Love your pumpkin too, we'll get a few soon I hope!
Very old DIGITAL camera??? Ha! It's crazy how much technology has changed our lives in just a short time!
Hehe - well, yes, it was a freebie that came with our printer...it really is old, but the main thing that is old about it is that it uses AA batteries, whereas all the new ones use lithium ones or whatever they are. If you take about 12 pictures on the old one and leave the batteries in for a day, then they're dead next time you try to turn the camera on! -J
Hey Jenny,
I recently just started reading your blog that I found thru Rachel's. It's great to catch up on what's going on in people's lives that you haven't seen in ages. So I have given in and started my own blog. Actually, I was inspired by yours and how you posted about exploring your new surroundings. Well, I just have a few posts on there right now, but if you would like to hear about what all has been going on with us, check it out at www.davidandsherryh.blogspot.com.
I hope all is well with you there and I hope to hear from you soon!
Take Care,
Sherry
