Guess who this guy is? He was our official welcome committee when we came home today. He was sitting at the front of our assigned parking place, looking very lost and confused. (Although our home is relatively close to water compared to some places, it's a pretty good hike (crawl) for a turtle to make.) He was a fairly large turtle, too - old enough to know not to wander so far from home. We poured a bucket of water on him, and he eventually made his way out of the parking lot and toward the woods. Hopefully he made it to some water safely.
And later this evening, we went fishing on the James River (no luck) and saw the usual beautiful Virginia sunset...

That is a pretty big turtle!! How strange to have him show up there! Collin would love to have seen that!
